Hericium erinaceus – ein Pilz mit großem Potenzial

Zusammenfassung

Hericium erinaceus ist ein essbarer Pilz, der in der traditionellen chinesischen Medizin (TCM) seit Jahrhunderten wegen seiner gesundheitsfördernden Eigenschaften geschätzt und v. a. bei Problemen im Magen-Darm-Trakt angewendet wird. Der Pilz enthält ein breites Spektrum an bioaktiven Verbindungen, u. a. Erinacine und Hericenone. Für sie wurden antiinflammatorische, antioxidative, antibakterielle, immunstimulierende, neuroprotektive und neurotrophe Aktivitäten nachgewiesen. In diesem Artikel werden In-vitro- und präklinische Untersuchungen zusammengefasst und aktuelle klinische Studien vergleichend vorgestellt. Die Studienergebnisse unterstreichen das Potenzial der Pilze für eine mögliche präventive bzw. therapeutische Anwendung insbesondere bei neurologischen Problemen.

Abstract

Hericium erinaceus is an edible mushroom that has been valued in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for centuries for its health-promoting properties and is mainly used to treat gastrointestinal disorders. The mushroom contains a broad spectrum of bioactive compounds, including erinacines and hericenones. The compounds have been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antibacterial, immunostimulating, neuroprotective and neurotrophic activities. This article summarizes in vitro and preclinical studies and presents actual clinical studies. The study results underline the potential of the mushrooms for a possible preventive or therapeutic application, particularly in the case of neurological problems.
